Spring
cometh. You may be digging out from under two feet of snow but position
players report to Florida in less than a month. Soon after, we'll be
treated to 45 days of spring training fun. We'll watch Daisuke Matsuzaka in Ft. Myers, Chipper Jones in Kissimmee, and Carl Crawford in St. Pete. Over in Lakeland, Tigers' manager Jim Leyland will be whipping his troops into shape. Of course, for those of you a bit further west, the action will be heating up in Arizona, too. ... (more)

Roger Clemens ended his silence about steroid allegations in dramatic fashion Sunday. After appearing on 60 Minutes where he passionately denied steroid use, Clemens filed suit against former trainer Brian McNamee. The Rocket claims McNamee was pressured by federal agents to finger the seven-time Cy Young Award winner. If that is true, the credibility of the Mitchell Report will suffer a severe blow. And baseball's black eye (from the steroid era) will get blacker before spring training even starts this year. ... (more)
